Turbulence
"I am an old man now, and when I die and go to heaven there are two matters on which I hope for enlightenment. One is quantum electrodynamics, and the other is the turbulent motion of fluids. And about the former I am rather optimistic." — Sir Horace Lamb

Dedication
The meaning of an endeavour is found in the process, more so than the final outcome. This book is dedicated to those who attempt to make the best out of every day.
"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present." — Bill Keane

Preface
This book is intended for those who have an interest in flowing fluids. It aims at providing some backgound, though of limited scope, on everyday flow turbulence, especially that encountered in engineering applications. Some undergraduate knowledge of fluid mechanics and statistics is needed to better appreciate the material covered.
Acknowledgements
If it is not because of the many co-runners, this book would have been just an anxious dream of starting a marathon without the stamina to cross the finish line. The author is particularly grateful to the strength from above, and the following individuals in easing the enduring endeavour, giving him the needed fuel to finally cross the finish line.
